First Communion Skipping Stone Workshop and Celebration - Fall 2024
The First Communion Workshop is offered for children and families who would like to prepare for a child’s first experience of Holy Communion. It’s one of our six Skipping Stones to celebrate moments in a child’s journey of life and faith!
Workshop date is:
- Saturday, Oct. 5, 9-10:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall (Sanctuary Building)
During the workshop, children learn what it means to REMEMBER, RECEIVE, and SHARE in the meal of Holy Communion – exploring what Communion is, what makes it special, how we practice receiving it, and what it means to live out our faith in the world. Children receive an engraved skipping stone at our workshop and a handmade ceramic chalice as part of the celebration in worship, a gift from St. Andrew’s.
Children attend the workshop with at least one parent/guardian or partner adult. Pre-registration is required.
Celebrations are available at any of the worship services on October 5 & 6. Families are encouraged to invite family to join their child for this celebration. Guests may include Godparents, grandparents, and other extended family. Worship choice will be made on the registration form and confirmed during the workshop.
We look forward to having you join us for this Skipping Stone event!
