Immerse yourself in God’s Creation for an amazing six-day adventure, including three days in the Boundary Waters of northern Minnesota!
Hop in a van and head “up north,” settling in at Wilderness Canoe Base near Grand Marais. The next morning, groups will head out into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCA) for three days of challenging adventure, gorgeous scenery, and fun, led by a trained canoe guide. Groups will return to camp for a full day of rest, worship, and sharing before heading back home the following morning. It’s an experience like no other!
Youth will be assigned to a small group for ALL activities – travel to and from Grand Marais, overnight sleeping, meals, and out into the wilderness. Each group will consist of no more than 9 people (7 youth, 1 St. Andrew’s adult, and 1 adult Wilderness Canoe Base guide.)
Ages/Grades: For youth completed Grades 9-12. Limited space is available (21 spots).
Cost: $400 per person. This amount is significantly reduced from the true cost thanks to the generosity of church members who support youth ministries. Financial assistance is available for additional support. To request a scholarship or payment plan, enter “PLAN” in the code box on the registration form and we’ll be in touch. You are able to make a down payment of $225, To do so, click the + sign in the box under event fees and uncheck the remaining balance box.
COVID Safety: We value the safety and well-being of our youth, volunteers, staff, and ministry partners, so we’re asking everyone to do their part by following our Youth Ministries Summer 2021 Safety Plan. Registering for summer events assumes a commitment to follow these guidelines, which includes limiting physical contact prior to trips and pre-trip COVID testing. Please review these guidelines prior to registering.
Once on the trip, youth and adults essentially form a “family/household” group and thus following our plan is key to everyone’s health and safety. **Note: This is especially important for the Boundary Waters trip due to the remoteness of our camp and wilderness experience where immediate medical attention is not usually possible. We’re working with our camp partner to make plans for evacuation if necessary. If you have questions or concerns to discuss, please contact Per Nestingen.
At this time, we intend our summer programs will continue as planned. We’ll communicate with families should there be changes.
Transportation: Van transportation during the trip will be provided by St. Andrew’s, each van with up to 7 youth and 1 adult. Van groups will be the same as small groups who participate in all trip activities together.
Registration: Click “Register for this Event” to begin the registration process. If you have a St. Andrew’s Connect account, be sure to sign in first. If you don’t have a Connect account, please sign up to enter your information to be saved in our system for future registrations.
